Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

We watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, last Wednesday. I like the movie. I like the book better of course. In fairness, I can say that the movie is a good interpretation of the book.

For those that are not readers of Harry Potter, they might be confused as to what really happened between Voldemort and Harry Potter when their wands connected.

If you read the book, you will know this:

Priori Incantatem – The Reverse Spell effect

This is what happens when a wand meets it’s brother {Harry's wand and Voldemort's wand share cores. Each of them contains a feather from the tail of the same phoenix, Fawkes). They will not work properly against each other. If, however, the owners of the wands force the wands to do battle…a very rare effect will take palce. One of the wands will force the other to do regurgitate spells it has performed – in reverse. The most recent first…and then those which preceded it.  That’s why Cedric have reappeared as well as Harry’s parents. It was kind of reverse echo, since no spell can reawaken the dead.
