Rewind - The day I found out

Early morning of January 8 (our 1st wedding anniversary), I nervously went to the bathroom with preggy kit in my hand. Sa kaba siguro, I can't remember what 2 lines means...so i had to read the instruction again...oh yes, 2 lines means positive. I was positively happy, ecstatic! It's the best gift one can ever get for a wedding anniversary! Posted by Picasa

I am Pregnant

I am 6 weeks pregnant! Oh yes, after 2 months of wanting to have a baby, we've finally succeeded. Yup, it's only 2 months, not a year of waiting.

I found out about it on our first wedding anniversary. It's a blessing!

It's so nice to see the smile on the faces of people when they open their gifts :)

" Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right. " ~Oprah Winfrey

"We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day." - Edith Lovejoy Pierce

Remembering all the things that happened last year, I can say that it's a year to remember.

I bid goodbye to singlehood and embraced the role of a loving wife. Now, I am waiting to experience what we call "the essence of being a woman", motherhoood. Will it happen this year? I do hope so.

Being married to the man I love is a bliss. We travelled together. We've been to different places. We were awed by the displays at the Pahiyas festival in Lucban, Quezon. We tried eating pancit habhab, the habhab way. We bought a lot of sandals at the tsinelas festival in Liliw. It's a feast to the shoe-aholics. We enjoyed the dolphin and sea lion shows at Ocean Adventure in Subic. We experienced the magic of Disneyland. We did extra challenge in Ocean Park...tried to see/do everything in 4 hours.

I thank my friends for the friendship we've shared. I also hope that somehow I have touched their lives.

I hope to do more this year. I hope to experience new things and see other places.

wedding and parties

We attended our friend’s wedding last Saturday (December 10). Wedding ceremony was at Chapel 2,Clakfield and reception followed at the Grand Ballroom of Holiday Inn.

We were supposed to stay at their villa after the wedding. We just went home when we saw that there are still a lot of people staying, including the family of the groom. The first time a friend of ours had a wedding at Clark, we stayed at the villa. Same thing happened in our wedding; our friends stayed in our villa. We had 2 villas, 1 for our friends and 1 for our family.

It was our depatment’s Christmas party last Dec 12. We had the party at NBC tent. It looked like a company party and not just a department party. The theme of the party was around the world. Our group had to wear Chines/Japanes costumes. My boss actually won best costume. She wore a full kimono including a wig and authentic japanese slippers. Too bad, I didn’t have my camera with me so I have no pictures to post.

It was my ninong Mario’s bday last Dec.12. He will have a bday party on the 17th. We will be missing the bday party of Eric’s lolo. We didn’t know that there would be a bday party on the 17th also. It will be a busy weekend for us. We have to attend the party and then go home (province) the next day (18th) to attend the christening of my friend’s baby girl. I was requested to be one of the godparents. Eric will be a proxy for his sister.

We are not yet done with our Christmas shopping. Oh Boy! Days really go by faster during this season

Nokia's Christmas Party

I attended the Nokia party last night. It was held at the Captain’s Bar of Mandarin Oriental. Brad Turvey and Tuesday Vargas hosted the party. The theme of the party was nice and naughty. Brad was nice and Tuesday was naughty. They did a great job.

There were games and raffles. I’m not sure how many Nokia phones were raffled off because I did not stay til end of the party. I was there when somebody from our marketing department won the raffle for the Nokia ---. There was a big chance of being picked because we were less than 20 present during the raffle for our company. I’m really not lucky with raffles, how sad.

2 events

2 events

I’ve been busy planning for the 2 events we held last week. Thank God it’s over now. The planning was really stressful. I even missed my period due to stress (and I thought I was pregnant, sad!)

Thank God I did not miss the famous lechon while we were in Cebu. On our first day, we went to lunch at CNT. Bad thing is we did not have enough time so we were not able to shop. Sorry friends but, no danggit and dried mangoes for pasalubong.

----------------------------------------

We were supposed to go to Greenhills last Saturday to do some shopping, didn’t happen. I didn’t have the energy (to think it’s shopping, guess I was really down).

What else can we do when we’re stuck at home but watch DVD series. We finished Grey’s Anatomy season 1, and we are now watching Nip Tuck season 2. Nip tuck 2 is bolder compared to the first season. I can’t watch some of the operation scenes. I like though that Christian Troy(Julian McMahon) is showing his soft side.  I cried when he made his speech why he should have his son, Wilber (not his biological son). Too much Nip tuck, I have to stop blabbering now. Last thing that I can’t afford not to mention… Julian rocks, he’s still so sexy!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

We watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, last Wednesday. I like the movie. I like the book better of course. In fairness, I can say that the movie is a good interpretation of the book.

For those that are not readers of Harry Potter, they might be confused as to what really happened between Voldemort and Harry Potter when their wands connected.

If you read the book, you will know this:

Priori Incantatem – The Reverse Spell effect

This is what happens when a wand meets it’s brother {Harry's wand and Voldemort's wand share cores. Each of them contains a feather from the tail of the same phoenix, Fawkes). They will not work properly against each other. If, however, the owners of the wands force the wands to do battle…a very rare effect will take palce. One of the wands will force the other to do regurgitate spells it has performed – in reverse. The most recent first…and then those which preceded it.  That’s why Cedric have reappeared as well as Harry’s parents. It was kind of reverse echo, since no spell can reawaken the dead.

Chinese food

Posted by Picasa
Another attraction in Hong Kong is the food. I love chinese food. We tried their hot pot buffet, it felt like our last meal sa dami ng kinain namin. We stayed for about 2 hours in the restaurant. Thanks sa mga pinsan ni Eric and auntie Flor for bringing us to the nice restaurants and for the great food.
