Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

We watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, last Wednesday. I like the movie. I like the book better of course. In fairness, I can say that the movie is a good interpretation of the book.

For those that are not readers of Harry Potter, they might be confused as to what really happened between Voldemort and Harry Potter when their wands connected.

If you read the book, you will know this:

Priori Incantatem – The Reverse Spell effect

This is what happens when a wand meets it’s brother {Harry's wand and Voldemort's wand share cores. Each of them contains a feather from the tail of the same phoenix, Fawkes). They will not work properly against each other. If, however, the owners of the wands force the wands to do battle…a very rare effect will take palce. One of the wands will force the other to do regurgitate spells it has performed – in reverse. The most recent first…and then those which preceded it.  That’s why Cedric have reappeared as well as Harry’s parents. It was kind of reverse echo, since no spell can reawaken the dead.

Chinese food

Another attraction in Hong Kong is the food. I love chinese food. We tried their hot pot buffet, it felt like our last meal sa dami ng kinain namin. We stayed for about 2 hours in the restaurant. Thanks sa mga pinsan ni Eric and auntie Flor for bringing us to the nice restaurants and for the great food.

Another must see in Hong Kong. It's actually bigger than Disneyland. I think I enjoyed it better than Disney. The only ride i took was the Amazing River (similar to Log Jam of EK). I enjoyed the view and the shows. My only regret is not being able to experience the Dolphin encounter. I wanted to feed the dolphin but we didn't have time to do that :(

Ate Ada's place

Auntie Flor picked us up at the Jordan Station of their MTR (version of our MRT). We went straight to ate ada's place. They have a 3bedroom condo. In HK, most of the people live in condos. As explained by our tourist guide, HK is just a small place so they have to make the most of it. They have to build high condos to accomodate the people.

We were able to check-in around 1pm. We were hungry already but we didn't want to eat at the hotel. We walk for a few feet and we found this place. There was a waiting line outside so we figured, food must be great. The first waitress we talked to doesn't understand english, fortunately, there's one who does. We ordered braised beef noodles and dimsum noodles, ang sarap. I specially like the ice milk tea. Super busog kami so we decided to rest first. Eric was able to contact chik (his cousin who lives in HK) and was able to arranged how we will meet them.

Noah's Ark

Here’s an email from a friend that I find funny so I decided to post it here. He received this email and decided to put some comments. Read on…

Noah's Ark Everything I need to know, I learned from Noah's Ark…

ONE: Don't miss the boat. Unless you want to use air travel…

TWO: Remember that we are all in the same boat. It’s just that some are sleeping with the pigs and some are above deck…

THREE: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark. Noah must’ve been listening to a PAGASA report.

FOUR: Stay fit. When you're 40 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big. Two words… Power Tools!

FIVE: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done. Don’t listen to flatter-bugs either; they can do as much damage.

SIX: Build your future on high ground. But don’t you always to get your feet wet in the process? And careful not to build it too high that you cant reach it!

SEVEN: For safety's sake, travel in pairs. Pair of pants, pair of underwear, pair of shorts…

EIGHT: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs. But when Noah reached land, they celebrated by eating escargots!

NINE: When you're stressed, float awhile.... and while your floating, don’t get additional stress. Don’t know about you but sex has always been a great stress-reliever.

TEN: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals. That maybe so but Noah had a great supervisor. And besides, the ark didn’t have Leo on it.

ELEVEN: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting. No comment, totally agree. Don’t want to get on His bad side.

Phobia with all souls day

Nov 1, 5 years ago, my mom was hospitalized and had undergone surgery for the removal of her gall bladder. We also found out that she has heart problem. She’s now required to take medicines for the rest of her life. As her doctor puts it “para kang kotse na kung di lalagyan ng gas, di na tatakbo”

Last October 31, my mom was confined in the hospital. Her blood sugar count shoot up. She stayed in the hospital for 4 days. She’s ok now but her blood sugar is still not normal. I’m really worried. I’m now reading about diabetes. She’s concerned on the food she should eat. Hay!

Looong Break

Back to work after 9 days of no work.

Back from Hong Kong trip. I’m so excited to blog about the trip but there’s so much work after the long break. I have the camera with me but can’t upload, forgot to bring the data cable, darn!
